For many families in our local community experiencing hardship, Christmas time is the toughest season of the year. We know this because we see an increase of over 50% in needs during the festive season.
Given the rising costs of living & increased demand for our services throughout 2023, we expect this Christmas to be even tougher on our community.
And so this Christmas, Nexus Care is all about putting some JOY back into the festive season for those who find this time of year tougher than usual. Help fund the practical ways Nexus Care is spreading JOY this Christmas.

We need your SUPPORT to raise $30,000.
This money goes directly towards:
- Funding the increased services over the Christmas period,
rising to meet 50% more needs.
- Supporting locals in hardship from our two locations, Sandgate and Everton Park.
- Providing healthy food parcels for an anticipated 700+ households.
- Help make Christmas special with the addition of Christmas treats in our fresh food parcels.
- Lighten the load for vulnerable families as they head back to school, covering the cost of practical items such as school shoes, uniforms, school books and stationery.
- Last year, we helped 77 local kids get back to school in January, distributing $5,200 in support. We are expecting more families than ever before to come to Nexus Care for support as we head into the new school year for 2024.

At Nexus Care, we feel incredibly blessed to be able to do what we do; And it is only made possible by generous donations. We have been able to provide more than 2 million meals to people experiencing hardship throughout greater north Brisbane over the past 12 years. We have grown from supporting 30 families a month to an average of more than 450 households. All because of the incredible support of people like YOU, in our community.
While Christmas is meant to be a season filled with Joy, there are many people in our local community going without the basics; a safe place to sleep, food on the table, friends to support us and meaningful sustainable employment
